Undo and version history
Last updated: October 2026
Your mind map lives for weeks or months, so mistakes happen: a card deleted by accident, a Tidy up you didn't like, AI features you'd rather not have. Flowmaps lets you take any of that back.
Undo and redo
- Undo: press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac), or click the curved arrow at the top left of the mind map.
- Redo: press Shift+Ctrl+Z (Shift+Cmd+Z), or Ctrl+Y, or click the arrow next to it.
Hover over the arrows to see what they'd undo or redo, like Undo: Delete "Book a walk".
You can undo:
- adding, deleting, moving and editing cards (title, notes, status)
- drawing, deleting and changing lines
- Tidy up, merging duplicates, and adding recommended features or scan findings: a big change undoes in one step
- moving cards on the board: the board and the mind map share the same undo, so you can undo on either
While you're typing in a field, Ctrl+Z undoes your typing, as usual.
Deleting a card no longer asks "are you sure?". It's deleted right away, and a message reminds you that Ctrl+Z brings it back.
Version history
Click History at the top left of the mind map to see earlier versions of your map.
Flowmaps saves a version by itself:
- before AI changes, like adding recommended features or scan findings
- before changes to many cards, like Tidy up or merging duplicates
- whenever cards are deleted
You can also save one yourself: type a name, like Before launch, and click Save version.
Restore a version
- Open History and click a version.
- Flowmaps shows what restoring it would change: which cards come back, which cards made since then go, and which go back to how they were.
- Click Restore this version…, then Restore.
Your map as it is now is saved first, so you can undo a restore with Ctrl+Z, or restore that copy from History.
Good to know
- Cards being built right now (In Progress on a git branch) stay as they are, and cards that follow GitHub keep their status.
- Build prompts of a card that comes back come back too. Its flags don't; Flowmaps checks the card again when you edit it.
- Free plan: cards that come back don't count as new cards toward the 60-card limit.
- Who can do what: everyone in the workspace can look at the history; owners and editors can save and restore versions.
- How many: the newest 50 automatic versions and the newest 50 you saved are kept for each venture.
- A restore shows up in Activity as one line.
