Plan your Lovable app before you prompt
Flowmaps helps you plan a Lovable app before you start prompting, so Lovable builds the right features in the right order instead of guessing.
What is Lovable?
Lovable is an AI app builder you use in your browser. You describe what you want in a chat, and it builds a web app for you, often with a Supabase database behind it.
Why plan before you build with Lovable
Lovable is fast, but it can only build what you ask for. A vague first prompt like "build me a booking app" leaves it to guess the screens, the data and what happens when someone pays. Each guess you have to undo is another message.
A plan fixes that. When you know the features your app needs and the order to build them in, every prompt you send to Lovable has one clear job.
How Flowmaps works with Lovable
- 1
Describe your idea in Flowmaps
One or two sentences is enough. Flowmaps suggests the features your app needs, including the ones beginners forget, like logins and payments.
- 2
Pick what to build first
Your features sit on a map and a board. Move the first one to Ready; Flowmaps keeps the rest in order.
- 3
Choose Lovable as your builder
Flowmaps writes the step for Lovable: what people see on each screen, what they can do, and the data behind it, without files or terminal commands.
- 4
Paste one step at a time
Copy the step into Lovable's chat, check the result, then move to the next step. Your board shows what's done and what's next.

Tips for building with Lovable as a beginner
- Start with the feature that makes your app useful, not the nicest screen.
- Send one feature per prompt. Big prompts with five features are where Lovable guesses most.
- Say who may see which data (for example, "owners only see their own bookings"). Flowmaps includes this in each step.
- Test each step in Lovable's preview before you move on.
Questions about planning a Lovable app
Does Flowmaps replace Lovable?
No. Flowmaps makes the plan and Lovable does the building. You use both: Flowmaps decides what to build and in which order, and Lovable turns each step into a working feature.
Do I need to know how to code to plan a Lovable app with Flowmaps?
No. You describe your idea in your own words, and Flowmaps writes the plan in plain language. You copy each step into your builder when you're ready for it.
Is Flowmaps free?
Yes, Flowmaps is free to start. The Free plan covers one app idea; paid plans add unlimited apps and teams. AI usage runs on your own Anthropic key, without a markup.
Will planning first save me Lovable credits?
Usually, yes. Clear steps mean fewer wrong guesses to fix, and every fix costs a message. How much you save depends on your app.
