Email ideas to Flowmaps

Got an idea while you're in your inbox, or on your phone? Email it to your own Flowmaps address and it becomes an Idea card on your mind map and board. No need to open Flowmaps.

Email ideas is part of Pro and Team. On the Free plan, Settings → Email ideas shows an Upgrade button instead of an address.

Find your address

Go to Settings → Email ideas. Your address looks like 3f9c…@in.flowmaps.app. Click Copy, and save it as a contact in your email app, for example Flowmaps ideas.

Each workspace gives you its own address. Owners and editors have one; viewers can't add cards, so they don't.

Keep your address to yourself: anyone who has it can add ideas to your workspace. If it gets out, click Make a new address…. The old one stops working right away.

Send an idea

• The subject becomes the card's title. Fwd: and Re: are taken off.
• The text becomes the card's notes. Quoted replies, signatures and "Sent from my iPhone" are left out.
• No subject? The first line of the text becomes the title.
• Forwarding a mail works too: the forwarded text becomes the notes, without the From/To lines.
• Attachments are ignored.

The card appears live on your mind map and board, marked via email in its side panel. It's a normal Idea card: Claude can suggest follow-ups when you open it, and you can undo or delete it like any other.

Pick the venture

Ideas go to the venture you pick under Ideas land in. Leave it on The venture you changed last to always add to what you're working on.

To send one idea somewhere else, name the venture in one of two ways:

• After a plus in the address: 3f9c…+pawstep@in.flowmaps.app. Use the venture's name without spaces or punctuation.
• In brackets at the start of the subject: [Pawstep] Dark mode for night walks.

See what came in

Recently received in the same section lists the last 10 emails and what happened to each:

• Added: it's on your map. Click the venture's name to open the card.
• Card limit reached: your venture has used the Free plan's 60 cards. Nothing was added. Upgrade to add more.
• Not added: for example, the workspace is on the Free plan, it has no ventures yet, or you're no longer an editor there.

Good to know

• No AI runs on emailed ideas, so it never uses your Anthropic key.
• If a workspace goes back to Free, its address stops adding cards; it works again after upgrading.
• Flowmaps keeps the subject and sender of emails it receives, to show them under Recently received. See our Privacy Policy.
