App feature list generator
Describe your app idea in a sentence or two. You'll get a first list of features in the order to build them, and a few things to check before launch. No account needed.
Your feature list
Spotted in your idea: bookings, payments, location, search, reviews
1. Foundation
Build these first. Everything else needs them.
- Sign up and log inAlmost every feature needs to know who the user is.
- Two kinds of usersEach side (like buyers and sellers) sees its own screens.
- ProfilesPeople want to know who they're dealing with.
2. The core
The main thing your app does. This is why people come.
- Show open times on a calendarPeople need to see when they can book.
- Book a timeThe main action: pick a time and confirm it.
- Search by locationShow what's close by, on a list or a map.
- Search and filtersHelp people find the right item fast.
3. Getting paid
Add payments once the core works.
- Checkout and paymentsTake payments with a provider like Stripe instead of building your own.
- Receipts and order historyPeople want proof of what they paid.
4. Extras for the first version
Nice to have at launch, small to build.
- Booking confirmation by emailSo both sides know the booking is real.
- Reviews and ratingsBuilds trust after the first real use.
- A home page that explains the appTells visitors what it does and how to start.
Later
Good ideas to leave out of the first version.
- Mobile appStart with a web app that works well on phones.
- More languagesAdd them once one language works.
- Admin panelUse your database dashboard until you need more.
Check before you launch
- Payments: use a payment provider, and check refunds, taxes and your terms.
- Location: ask permission and only store what you need.
- Personal data: say in a privacy policy what you store and why.
Not legal advice. Flag these for review.
Why build order matters
Features lean on each other. Bookings need accounts, payments need bookings, and reviews need finished bookings. Build them in that order and each step has what it needs. Build them out of order and your AI builder has to go back and change what it already made.
That's why the list starts with the foundation (accounts and the kinds of users), then the core of your app, then payments, then extras. Things for later stay out of the first version on purpose.
How to use your feature list
- Add anything special to your app that the list missed, and remove what you don't need.
- Copy the list and paste it as the first message in Lovable, Bolt, v0, Cursor or Claude Code, as the plan.
- Then ask for the first feature only. Test it, then ask for the next one.

Frequently asked questions
What is a feature list?
A list of everything your app needs to do, one feature per line, in the order you'll build it. It's the plan you give an AI builder, one feature per prompt.
Why does the order matter?
Features build on each other. Bookings need accounts, and payments need bookings. If you build in the wrong order, the AI has to redo work, and that costs time and credits.
How does this generator work?
It looks for words in your idea that point to common features, like booking, paying or uploading photos, and puts them in a sensible order. It doesn't use AI, so add anything special to your app yourself.
How is Flowmaps different?
Flowmaps uses AI to read your idea, maps every feature with what it depends on, flags risks, and writes a build prompt per feature. It also keeps track of what's built.
