Quick idea: capture in one keystroke

Got an idea while you're on the board, in Settings or anywhere else in Flowmaps? Press N, type it, press Enter. It lands as an Idea card on your venture's mind map and board, without opening the mind map.

How it works

1. Press N on any page in the app, or click Quick idea at the top of the sidebar.
2. Type your idea. The first line becomes the card's title; anything after it goes into the card's notes.
3. Check the venture next to To. Flowmaps picks the venture you're on, or else the one you used last.
4. Press Enter to add it. Shift+Enter starts a new line, and Esc closes the box without saving.

A short message confirms where it went, with a link to the map. The card appears at the bottom left of the mind map, and in the Idea column of the board, right away, also for teammates who have it open.

Good to know

• N doesn't fire while you're typing in a field, like a card's notes or the search box.
• Flags: like every new card, the idea is checked for legal, security, compliance and cost risks. A flag shows up on the card; see Flags.
• Who can use it: owners and editors. Viewers don't see the button, and N does nothing for them.
• Free plan: a quick idea counts toward the 60 cards per venture. When you reach the limit, Flowmaps shows the plans instead.
• Prefer email? You can also email ideas to Flowmaps (Pro and Team).
